Desk Calendar 2021 for a Dental Clinic

Every year I illustrate for a dental clinic desk calendar. Usually the pictures are about healthy life style for healthy teeth. For 2021 we change the theme to 'New Normal' life style during the Covid19 pandemic. And this time I also change the illustration style, from watercolour painting to paper cut dioramas. It took more time and effort to make the dioramas compared to (only) watercolour. But I feel satisfied with the result. I even used one of the dioramas for a short video to campaign 'Stay at Home'. I will share the video in the next post.

Do You Know Purun?

Purun is a native plant to peatlands that support the peatland ecosystem. Last November I illustrated an ebook written by my friend Shoba C. Dewey which is published by Duanyam. Duanyam is a social enterprise that produces and distributes authentic weaving products (included Purun) made by women artisans in rural Indonesia.

The Second Little Witch Book Trailer

Sarang Baru (New Nest)

OMG it's December already!
Finally I have time to sit and share something here. This is the ebook I created through a workshop with The Asian Foundation last March, right before the covid19 pandemic in Indonesia. It was published by reader.letsreadasia.org for free.
The workshop's theme was pollution and I chose to write a fiction about sound pollution (noise) that affect  birds' lives.

#Stayathome part One and What Book Are You Reading?

The Covid19 pandemic spreads all around the world, makes most of us stay at home these days including the children.
Thinking of them, I made some dioramas to cheer them up and hopefully ignite their imagination. They can make theirs with anything available at home. Stay at home would be a fun thing to do.

The first one is here :
"What book are you reading?"

I'm reading "What Rabbit Eats?"
Grass.
Vegetables
Carrot

What book are you reading? Please tell me...

A New Anthropomorphic Illustrations

This year started with a not so good news, Covid 19 pandemic. To reduce the spread, Indonesian government asks us to make a social distance, by work from home, school from home and worship from home.
As a freelance children's book author/illustrator, it's not a big deal. I used to work from home, and my kids are homeschoolers too. But sometimes I still can feel the negative energy pressure surround me. People panic buying, hoax and rumours spreads. I can't find any ethanol, 70% alcohol nor hand sanitiser in shops around my house. Some vitamins like multivitamin, vitamin C and vitamin E are also gone.
I mostly avoid reading & opening news from social medias, except some trustable resources. We all need positive vibes.

This time I want to share some of my illustrations of an anthropomorphic (my favourite subject!) story. Hopefully my happiness and love in these illustrations  spread to all of you!
